Christmas OutReach

So I have been in Hong Kong for a couple days and thought it would be nice to let everyone know what has been going on since I got here! I will not bore you with my issues at the Jax airport with TSA etc, as we have all heard the stories and mine are not nearly as interesting as theirs. So I will skip to my first day in Hong Kong! December 12th I had forgotten how much I truly love being here in this beautiful land. The fresh moutain air, the gorgeous culture and special people are amazing. I was blessed to be able to go on an outreach to an area where drug addicts are going for help. Most of them wait there for the Government offered assistance (one drug to get off another) and YWAM brings soup/rice to them and minister. Some are not there for help as much as dealing or receiving more drugs, which was heartbreaking. I prayed and handed out some of the food, then was asked by one of the YWAM staff to come pray for one of the men who had wanted prayer. The man's mother had died recently and he was a Christian. The staff translated for me and I was amazed at the mans heart and trust in God. After that, we continued to do outreach and pray for opportunities. Since many spoke Cantonese, I felt I could not do more than pray. However, when two young men walked by, one of the other staff told me that they spoke English. I said hello to them and asked how they were. We exchanged names and then somehow got into a conversation about Christmas and what the holiday is really about. We spoke for awhile and I was able to share the gospel. The men were from Nepal and knew only very little about Jesus. Through Christ, I spoke to them about the ultimate gift for Christmas. They seemed upset that if Christmas and Easter were truly about Jesus, why was it characterized by so many other things. I explained to them about how we as humans lose focus on what really matters in life, but that Jesus had came at Christmas so we could have a relationship with Him and at Easter He shows us forgiveness and victory through Him. They seemed to really listen and allowed me to pray for them before they continued on their way. I ask ya'll to join with me to pray that this year, they accept the true gift of the season! December 13th Christmas Outreach began today with orientation, training on Intercession and then dance practice for me. Everyone can watch the rehearsal for Christmas Outreach live at 7 a.m. central @ www.ywamhongkong.org and follow the links to Christmas Outreach on December 15th. It also has a live feed of what is going on everyday and daily updates soon. We have a really great team, all together about 65 and almost 20 different nationalities! We have a YWAM team from Salem and another from Australia. I got a chance to walk around Kam Tin during a break and then go into town with my room-mate and another Christmas Outreach student. I am so excited to see what God is going to do! There has been a lot coming up in prayer time about His love and restoration for the people of Hong Kong. December 14th Though the day is not quite over, I thought I would go ahead and take the time to write the update on the blog for all of you. We have had evangelism training today and after dinner also have a testimony training. We have had dance practice as well, and I must say I love it. Still struggling a little, but God will work out the kinks in it tomorrow before rehearsal. The food is great. The teams are good. And we are going to Yuen Long tonight to pick up a few things for Outreach. I have to pick up some food for the house and withdraw part of the money for the upcoming Discipleship Training School for a deposit. Please keep in mind that you can still be apart of this great mission time by your coninuted support and donations. Feel free to contact me for any additional information. My address in Hong Kong is posted below and I would love to hear from everyone and how it is going back in the States! Much love and blessings~ Ashley Tincher YWAM HONG KONG P.O.
