First NewsLetter!

For those of you who are not on my mailing list, I will be posting my newsletters here on my blog as well to keep you informed to what is happening while I am away!

*Introduction*

Hello! For those of you who do not know me very well, or only by sight or name, I am Ashley Tincher and I am a missionary in Asia. God called me to this at the tender age of 15 and I have been chasing Him, and the call, ever since. For the next six months I will be training and be on outreach throughout Hong Kong and in the Big Country. For security reasons, I cannot disclose any other locations for the safety and protection of the team and myself. This first newsletter is to just give you a little information of what will be occurring for the next several months, so that you- the people who are praying and supporting me- will always know how God is at work overseas. So I say Good-Bye to the USA and hello to my new life here in Asia!

The organization I am going with is called YWAM: Youth With A Mission. It was founded in 1960 by a man named Loren Cunningham with the statement, “To know God and to make Him known.” Since then it has grown into an international mission network, which focuses on training young people to go into the world to preach the good news.

My first month with YWAM Hong Kong will be spent doing outreach there during what is called “COR: Christmas OutReach.” We will spend time in worship, prayer, devotions in addition to drama/dance training to take into the streets, schools and wherever the Lord leads in Hong Kong. Hong Kong has formerly been under British rule and is more open to the Gospel than her motherland. It is a safe environment where we can openly preach the gospel and give our testimonies after ministering with serious dramas and joyful Christmas dances.

I had the pleasure of experiencing this COR last year and was blessed to be a part of an amazing time with God. Around a dozen people accepted the ultimate gift of Salvation while we were there, and many more prayers were prayed over the land of Hong Kong. I ask that you please join us in praying for COR this year, so that those who hear will accept the message of Grace.

Missionary Training

After the first month of outreach in Hong Kong over Christmas, there will be a short break of a few weeks in-between COR and what is called “DTS: Discipleship Training School”. The DTS will last five months, starting in January and ending in June. Those first three months will be focused on these areas:

·         Hearing the voice of God

·         Prayer and Intercession

·         The Character of God

·         Worship

·         Evangelism

·         World Missions

We will also continue doing outreach in local areas in Hong Kong and reaching out to the red light district. The last two months will be spent on outreach outside of Hong Kong in a restricted access country. During my time overseas, I will not be able to discuss those last two months until I return to the USA. Also, it will be those two months that there will be no contact from me, except from YWAM staff to let everyone know that we are safe and well and God is working. Until then, I will be sending out newsletters like these to keep you informed!
