Why is Your Name "AshTinkerBelle"?

My first name is Ashley, and my last is Tincher. When I was little, people used to call my Tinker, which my classmates then picked up on and called me TinkerBell. To put my own spin, I made it TinkerBelle- like from Beauty and the Beast, lol. TinkerBelle is my nickname now, over a decade later. History does repeat itself!

What School Did You Graduate From?

Actually, my mom started to home school my older sister and I right before the 911 attacks in New York. I loved it and graduated in 2009. I was not much of a social butterfly then, very shy, so I enjoyed that. Now, however, I love attending college and interacting with other students and teachers.

Why Criminal Justice?

It intrigued me. I needed to pick something I thought I would like and could get a good job with to support my mom and I after a nasty family divorce. I fell in love with the classes and even more with juvenile justice. Entering the CRJ field will be hard for me though, not because I cant handle it, but because others have a tendency to under estimate me. I'm a five foot tall, girl next door type- I do not look tough, though my friends can vouch for my tenacity. So I have to fight stereotyping and looking younger than 20. But I love the field and look forward to pursuing a career in it.

Where do You Stand on Politics?

I call myself a Libertarian, but I have yet to find a candidate that I totally agree with in any party. As for the upcoming presidential elections, I don't have a favorite yet. I like a couple of the republicans, have heard nothing from any other party, interestingly enough. Only time will tell.

Who Inspires You?

Many people inspire me. Those who are willing to step out and do the hard thing when no one else will, strong women who went against the norm. My ultimate inspiration is Jesus Christ- He always did the right thing, and He ultimately put Himself on the line. For me. For you. That's pretty inspiring, no matter who you are.

Anything We Should Know About You?

Let me think. I can have a weird sense of humor at times, I can go very quickly from being dead serious to cracking jokes. Most of the time I'm pretty serious unless I am just chilling with my friends. I love to laugh, I hate to cry, I'm creative at heart and a writer to the core. Poetry, lyrics, novels, you name it, I've written or am in the process of writing them.
