OutReach

Life happens fast. After being in Hong Kong for two weeks, I am packing up to return to a place I once thought was just a dream. I must confess~ I love being in Asia. God has blessed my heart with a love for the unloved and passion for the unreached. These next 2+ months will be filled with ministry in a city largely unreached. Prayer and worship in the Red Light District, around the temples, parks and universities. Friendship evangelism, discipleship and more will be the focus of this trip. We will remain in one city as our location, rather than traveling throughout the country. Also, language acquisition will be emphasized by taking Mandarin classes four times a week, two hours each. We will have church together as team, meetings and team classes to continue learning about pioneering missions. We leave on Monday for a two days train ride and arrive on Wednesday. These past two weeks have been focused on the history of the country, class presentations and orientation about the city and province and also more evangelism training.

This will be my last blog post until I return at the end of November to Hong Kong. Donations to myself or the team can still be made by sending a check or cash to this address:

Prayer Requests:
Good health for the the entire team for the entire outreach (winter will begin while we are there, and it can get cold...)
Anointing for evangelism
Creativity in sharing the Gospel
Love for the people, food and culture (food is extra spicy, please pray, lol)
Finances for the team- I am still lacking nearly $1000 US from the ticket plane home for my friends funeral, and all of us need some extra finances for the outreach
Discernment
JOY
Safety for the team for transportation and outreach
Good weather the entire outreach and no natural disasters

Also, please pray for our hearts to be prepared for whatever comes, and for us to be well in our souls. Sometimes it can be hard to be so far from home, friends or family or the familiar. Although we love what God has called and equipped us to do, we are still human. :-)

Thank you all for your support during these months of preparing! We have had some amazing praise and worship times for the Red Light District here in Hong Kong, and two of the girls I've been building relationship with have given me their emails so we can keep in touch! Oh! GREAT PRAISE REPORT! One of the muslim men we have been speaking to all year long has finally believed in the immaculate conception of Jesus! No, he is not a believer yet, but this is a great step, for him to believe that Jesus was placed Mary's womb by God and not by man, a miracle! So, please keep him in your prayers! Also, many of the girls from the Phillipines are due to go home within the next two months, so please keep them in your prayers as they return home and find good jobs and not have to come back here to work in the Red Light District. This coming week, a USA Navy ship is coming into port, which means the girls will have to work more, no days off and be 'serving' our servicemen. I ask you to pray for the girls to have strength and have faith that one day this will change and for rest in the bodies and spirits. I ask your to pray too for these sailors. Most, if not all, do not realize that they are participating in human trafficking when they frequent the strip clubs and bars and take a girl home/out with them while they are at port. They need to know what's going on, and use wisdom while they are here. Normally, I am beyond ecstatic when I hear of my home countrymen being anywhere near, but this time my heart hurts to hear of them coming....please pray.

So, I send you all much love as I send off back into "Narnia". You are in my prayers as well and I look forward to sharing all the wonderful things God is going to do in the next two ish months!

Peace & Blessings
Ashley
